~TEMPEST News! April 27, 2008~ Dear Friends, Lief from Tempest writing, to bring you the latest news of our third annual festival, Karfluki Fest 2008. The big weekend is almost here!! Karfluki Fest takes place on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th this year, at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, and it's going to be the best one yet! If you have not arranged for your tickets, don't wait -- It's only a week away! http://karflukifest.com/tickets.htm In honor of our 20th Anniversary we have created a very special show just for Karfluki Fest; get ready for ‘Tempest Through The Ages.’ An extraordinary concert featuring four key lineups of the band together in one spectacular performance, tarted up with Dancers, Jugglers, Fire and Mayhem! Our new double-disc CD / DVD set, PRIME CUTS, will have it’s official release party at Karfluki Fest, and there will be a special signing booth where you may ‘meet and greet' the guys. We plan to celebrate the upcoming year with shows all over the US, and in Europe as well. We've already scheduled some very exciting festival dates in Denmark and Norway! This CD features some of the best live recordings of Tempest ever made, and a few spicy tracks from Caliban and Golden Bough as well. ~TEMPEST News! June 30, 2007~ As some of you know, we had an amazing Karfluki Fest in May. So, next year, we're going to make it a two day event! In 2008, Karfluki Fest will be held on May 3rd & 4th, in honor of Tempest's 20th Anniversary! You can help to support next year's festival -- by buying a Karfluki Fest DVD!
Regarding Pleasanton Highland Games on Labor Day weekend, we have some unfortunate news -- after 10 years of performing there, we were not invited to participate this year. On a happier note, to be released this Summer, we'll have a fantastic Live CD from Lief's Birthday Bash at Ashkenaz! We have plenty of great shows coming up, and look forward to seeing you there! |

Now we are taking 'a brief moment's respite' before KARFLUKI FEST, our first annual festival -- to be held at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, CA on Saturday, May 6th. This is truly a dream come true for Tempest. Staging our own event allows us to design an expanded show around our musical history and perform for you with an extended line-up... We can't wait! At KARFLUKI FEST we'll also
present some other fab acts we know you'll enjoy. 'Slim Bawb & Gator Bait' is a new 'swampgrass' group from the Sacramento area. The band members also play with 'The Beer Dawgs' and 'Mumbo Gumbo'. 'Wicked Tinkers' will not need an introduction to Tempest Fans. You all know the tremendous energy that takes place when they join us with their pipes, drums and didgeridoo... and this time we're planning a few extra surprises! We have also added 'Sierra Spiral Dancers', the very entertaining physical comedian Jeffrey Weissman, and a fire performance troupe to the program. And we'll have Ric O'Shea's juggling school ready for the children. (Remember kids under 12 are free with guardian.) We do recommend that you bring some warm clothes along for the evening shows and you're welcome to carry your own lawn chairs if you like. There will be a variety of great food, beer and other refreshments and we're delighted with the wonderful array of vendors that will help to kick off this first year. It’s going to be released by Magna Carta on Feb. 21, and we can’t wait for you to hear it! The CD Release Party will be held at The Little Fox in Redwood City on the 4th of March. November 2003~ Dear Friends, The TEMPEST 15th ANNIVERSARY SHOW will be held on SATURDAY, JANUARY 24, 2004, at the VETERANS MEMORIAL THEATRE, located at 203 East 14th street, in Davis, California. Showtime is 8pm. This event promises to be a great Celebration of Tempest's past and present; featuring a reunion set by the original band members, appearances by both the "Serrated Edge" and the "Surfing To Mecca" line-ups, and an extensive Grand Finale featuring the past members and the current band all jammin' together, and much more! And of course the show will be recorded... and did we mention, the theatre also has a great dance floor?
